Outlook 2019 Problems
This is going to be a blog that I update as I come across issues with Outlook 2019. I take calls from clients all over the world looking for help with Microsoft Outlook, so I am considered an expert and market myself as one. What makes me an expert? I know all the problems Outlook can have and know how to fix them fast. Sometimes I come across new issues, like Outlook 2019 that might be so new, I don’t know all the ways to fix it. But I love these new launches, then I get to learn a lot!
I took a call yesterday from a client who needed help transferring their Office from an old computer to a new computer, Windows 10, build 1809. I found issues right out of the gate and then the tech told me that they had bought Office 2019 and that helped me figure out why I was having issues. Below is a list of issues I ran into.
First issue…No mail app in the control panel. This is where I do most of my work for Outlook believe it or not.
Then I had to open up Outlook and create a profile from the startup, which I hate as I had a PST I wanted to use, would not give me that option. So I had to setup using the new connector and thank god that worked on the first try.
Got everything setup, fine tuned and all that, then found the stream_autocomplete where it usually lives, vanished. Thankfully, I thought of just searching for it and found it in a new directory
- 3rd party applications such as iCloud might not work
- When you purchase Office 365 with your new computer, these are installed in the apps too, so you might have to reinstall to get full functionality.
- Install 32 bit over 64 bit if you can. Save a copy of 32 bit as you might need to reinstall this version. 64 bit is still not 100% functional I have found. Microsoft is removing 32 bit soon from their installers and I wish they would not do that until 64 is stable.
Tip:
If you need to open a test profile in Outlook 2019 and no mail app and Outlook doesn’t open, my little fix here did work https://callthatgirl.biz/how-to-add-a-blank-profile-in-outlook-2016/
Feel free to leave a comment if this blog helped you! I am enjoying reading and replying to them.
