Microsoft SharePoint

Call That Girl also offers basic Microsoft SharePoint support, setup and training. Before you jump in, read this page and see if you are still interested in SharePoint. I will not ever help a client with things that I cannot setup, support and assist with. SharePoint might not be what you are looking for.

Here is what I know about SharePoint and what I can offer to clients. There is a lot of “confusion” going on right now with SharePoint and OneDrive. Many people who buy Office 365 think that these products will just “instantly” work great and while we had hopes of this, it’s just not true. Many small businesses don’t even know that SharePoint is available as Microsoft doesn’t really state “SharePoint” in it’s Office 365 marketing. It’s tied in with 1TB of “Storage and sharing”–meaning it’s tied in with OneDrive! They want you to use OneDrive…which does not really work great. And well…neither does SharePoint to be fair, but I can get some parts of it to work for the small business who only wants a few simple features.

Check out my Pros and Cons about Microsoft SharePoint podcast here! http://callthatgirl.podbean.com/e/call-that-girls-office-365-show-47-pros-and-cons-about-microsoft-office-365-sharepoint-for-business/

SharePoint, when setup right can be one of the most productive and powerful products in the Office 365 suite. I have worked at a large company that had an amazing SharePoint intranet site, but this company also had 3 administrators manage it. Small businesses today simply cannot just setup a site in an hour and be done and start using all of the features. Think of a professionally setup and managed SharePoint site like a website. Someone in the company will need to continue to work on it, manage it and service it.

Small businesses usually only want file sharing only, so the One Drive is what they try to use for their companies. Many small businesses don’t even know that SharePoint is available as Microsoft doesn’t really state “SharePoint” in it’s marketing. Many companies are now complaining that One Drive is not working and is causing many problems. So many in fact that companies are going back to their old servers and Dropbox and other online file sharing solutions.

What I help clients with

  • Setting up a basic documents library in SharePoint

  • Show clients how to upload documents

  • Show clients how to co-author with others in the compnay

  • Synchronize that directory with the computer, Windows 10 only

If your organization needs more of an Expert SharePoint Administrator, I do know 2 people that are available by the project and do not require on-going contracts.

If you would like to get on my calendar to discuss SharePoint and if it’s a good choice for your business, use my online scheduler below to get on my calendar.
