Referral Plans

| July 22, 2019
This is pretty easy folks! For every client you refer my way, I offer two types of rewards.
  • First one is credit on a prepay ticket. This is handy if you need to use my services again. Some folks already have a ticket on file and I’ll add time to that. Hourly clients will get a new ticket on file for this purpose.
  • Second way…If you are a technician, website designer or work in marketing and want to refer me work, I can offer a 10-15% payment on the final invoice paid by your referral. I can also work on other programs if you have another idea. Feel free to email me! Lisa@callthatgirl.biz

Large Group Microsoft 365 Training

| July 18, 2023

Large Group Microsoft 365 Training

If your company is looking for hands-on, instructor-led Microsoft 365 Training, I have many options for you. Below is all the information you’ll need to review and see if I’m a good fit for your training requirements, schedule and budget. I train from an end user standpoint and I train freestyle. I have an outline but usually I just go and answer questions during the training. I offer examples of why you might want to do something or need a feature, I consider my training very non cookie cutter but more personal. Ok, I throw in a few jokes, training can be boring, might as well make it more enjoyable.

Comparing my small business to larger online training companies has value, you also can work with me after the training for your consulting or helpdesk needs. Small companies appreciate this option and often don’t have an IT company, so it works out great for us both. I don’t offer contracts, most clients buy 3-hour support package to use in 15 min increments. This option can be considered supplemental support to your IT department as sometimes requests are outside their wheelhouse.

If you are migrating from Google Workspace, Network Solutions, etc to Microsoft 365, this is a great investment in your transition. Offering training allows your employees to learn about the 365 Experience in its entirety. You’re paying a premium price; your staff should know how to utilize it all.

More about my training

  • Larger online companies offer half or full day training, where I offer an accelerated power hour and with options for recording, your team can watch it later. All training sessions include a recording of the training for your team to review later.
  • I don’t charge per user but per session. You can have up to 500 attendees in a session. I charge a bit more for over 500.
  • You can chose to have a moderator from your team or you can use my mine for an extra charge. See below.
  • I have a commission plan for those that want to refer me to their clients, or I can offer a discount for MSP and other IT consultants who wish to bill their clients. See below for more information
  • For larger groups I will quote you for prep time as we will need it.
  • You can offer your own demo account using your 365 account, or I can offer my demo account.

Review below and if you find we’d be a great fit, please email me at lisa@callthatgirl.biz and request a consult or use this link to schedule a 15 min consult Let me know that you read this page and what options you want. I write simple quotes and have availability to schedule soon or months out.

How to start an IT Consulting Business

| June 12, 2023

How to start an IT Consulting Business

If you’re reading this blog, that means you have found me online looking for some guidance on tech consulting. Back when I started out consulting, I didn’t even know what I was doing, I was writing the rules as I went. At some point during this blog series, I’ll tell the whole story of all the changes my business went through from 2007-2013, but I’ll start stories from 2013 for the most part. I had closed 3 stores in Minnesota, laid off all my employees, and went out on my own to be a Microsoft Outlook Expert. I’ll share more of stories from the past 10 years as I write the blogs.

Here are how the blogs will work, below is the index. Once I finish a topic, I’ll hotlink it here so you can always use this page as a reference. This information is for anyone to read and learn, but not for sale, not for print, to be copied for content for Tiktok, YouTube, other blogs or presentations. And finally, not to be sold in any fashion. All copyrights belong to Lisa Hendrickson and Call That Girl Co. For permission email me lisa@callthatgirl.biz

My goal is to have other niche entrepreneurs remember learning from my blog to refer my business work when you get calls. Referrals is a big part of your new business, so connecting with others in your industry is very important. Remember, an Expert never says no, but I’ll help you get it resolved. All clients want is their problem solved, whether you do it, or a trusted colleague.

Now let’s get started!

Guessing you’ve been in tech for a while if you’re interested in going on your own with your niche. I had been working in IT for 17 years before I changed direction, so it’s never too late. I’ll try to give examples with many different tech related skills outside my niche, such as networking, software engineering, server management, computer repair, etc. My first tip I give to anyone just thinking about niching out, is to write a list of your top 10 favorite services you support now, or know you’d like to excel in. This list will help guide you as you formulate your own business plan. I’d open Excel and do this, as that’s my next tip and you’ll need it.

Once you have this list, go to Google and type in what you want to be an expert in and add “expert” at the end. For example, if I wanted to be Meraki Expert, Google it and you’ll find pages of your competition. This is important to do your homework before you dive into the world of other experts. You will want to know about them as they will be of your colleagues one day or a referral partner. I did this in 2014 and continue to this day. It’s almost like a “higher level club”. Your searches may only find corporations or Upwork, Freelancer, etc…and if so, that’s good. More room for you to be in Google by yourself.

That’s it for tonight’s blog. I’ll try to keep this updated daily.
