Does New Outlook Support POP

As of Sep 14, 2024, New Outlook does not support POP or any PST files. Microsoft does have plans in 2025 to add PST files in “view” only. Meaning you cannot reply from those emails, move those emails or do anything but read only. You would need to import them into a cloud server through classic Outlook first. Microsoft Exchange or Google Workspace are the two favorite choices. Once you upload them to the cloud email server of your choice, then you can use those emails in the New Outlook. Move them around, reply from them or do whatever you wish.

I recommend before you do this, you organize your PST data a bit. Some folks have decided to not import very old data or deleted items. The New Outlook does not have a size limit as it’s really a true “cloud app” and doesn’t store local data.

If you need help with importing your PST files, use the form below and schedule a 10 min consult. I can offer a quote for you on how long this process will take.

One last thing, if you have calendar, contacts, notes and tasks in your PST file, then you will need to migrate that data to a cloud server. Microsoft Exchange is what I recommend if you want to use the New Outlook.
