Large Group Microsoft 365 Training

Large Group Microsoft 365 Training

If your company is looking for hands-on, instructor-led Microsoft 365 Training, I have many options for you. Below is all the information you’ll need to review and see if I’m a good fit for your training requirements, schedule and budget. I train from an end user standpoint and I train freestyle. I have an outline but usually I just go and answer questions during the training. I offer examples of why you might want to do something or need a feature, I consider my training very non cookie cutter but more personal. Ok, I throw in a few jokes, training can be boring, might as well make it more enjoyable.

Comparing my small business to larger online training companies has value, you also can work with me after the training for your consulting or helpdesk needs. Small companies appreciate this option and often don’t have an IT company, so it works out great for us both. I don’t offer contracts, most clients buy 3-hour support package to use in 15 min increments. This option can be considered supplemental support to your IT department as sometimes requests are outside their wheelhouse.

If you are migrating from Google Workspace, Network Solutions, etc to Microsoft 365, this is a great investment in your transition. Offering training allows your employees to learn about the 365 Experience in its entirety. You’re paying a premium price; your staff should know how to utilize it all.

More about my training

  • Larger online companies offer half or full day training, where I offer an accelerated power hour and with options for recording, your team can watch it later. All training sessions include a recording of the training for your team to review later.
  • I don’t charge per user but per session. You can have up to 500 attendees in a session. I charge a bit more for over 500.
  • You can chose to have a moderator from your team or you can use my mine for an extra charge. See below.
  • I have a commission plan for those that want to refer me to their clients, or I can offer a discount for MSP and other IT consultants who wish to bill their clients. See below for more information
  • For larger groups I will quote you for prep time as we will need it.
  • You can offer your own demo account using your 365 account, or I can offer my demo account.

Review below and if you find we’d be a great fit, please email me at lisa@callthatgirl.biz and request a consult or use this link to schedule a 15 min consult Let me know that you read this page and what options you want. I write simple quotes and have availability to schedule soon or months out.

Remote Training With Lisa: Microsoft 365 Teams

You don’t want to go it alone when it comes to Microsoft Teams.

Your company has invested in this powerful tool, but without proper setup and training, it’s like you just bought a restaurant but have no idea how to cook. You can figure out how to turn on the burners, but how do you go from there to managing a functioning kitchen and serving your guests? My Teams training gets your front-of-house and back-of-house coordinated and running smoothly.

What I’ve Learned
Based on my years of working with clients, I recommend scheduling a one-hour session with the department lead in order to review your OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams configuration. Proper setup depends on your goals, and it’s critical to get this figured out before training employees.

During this initial session, I’ll prepare a list of topics to cover with each employee and then share a link to my scheduler so employees can book their own 30-minute sessions. Some people will need only a few minutes while others will want more handholding. Everyone should book a session! Sometimes people don’t know what they don’t know.

Note: If I come across technical issues with desktop synching during employee trainings, I will reach out to the department lead before starting to repair it. You will have the option to add the repair time to the invoice.

Training topics we’ll cover:

  • How to create your first team correctly
  • How to set up channels
  • How to add internal members as well as members outside your organization
  • Tabs for shortcuts and other 365 add-ins
  • How to upload data to the correct team
  • How to synch with your desktop
  • How collaboration works
  • How to ensure security
  • How to backup your Teams to the desktop
  • How to do an online 365 backup
  • How to restore data/version history

Bonus topics!

  • How to set up meetings in Teams and Outlook
  • Mobile device setup and tips

To open the web app change your browser settings to allow third-party cookies or allow certain trusted domains

This was interesting to figure out, but I did finally figure it out. Thought if you’re Googling this, you’d want to know too!

I got this error when I was logging into Teams online using Chrome. I tried it in regular and incoginito mode. Both failed.

Then I had to think of why I’m getting the error when I’m logging in with the correct username and password, it dawned on me that lately I’ve been noticing Chrome get angrier with any 365 logins. I went to Edge and opened “InPrivate Window” and sure enough, worked great. This also solved another issue I was having with adding Teams members to Teams oddly enough.

I hope this helps you down your journey of troubleshooting.

The server you are trying to access is using an authentication protocol not supported by this version of Office

This error may pop up when you are trying to save a document in Microsoft Teams. What I did to fix this was try saving again, but change the document type from Excel 2000-2003 to just Excel (top choice). It’s most likely an old file and isn’t compatible with 365.

Onboarding

| May 17, 2023

Hi folks, this is a page I created for you to review before I help today. Not everything will apply to you and the work you need done. As well, if you’re a past client we will skip through a lot of this as I have already done your onboarding the first time I helped you.

I have this complete list as it’s important I know as much as I can before I start work, this will help with complications we may come across. or I can figure out something simpler for you, we will figure it out together. This onboarding can take approx 10 min for me to review and I will ask questions.

  • Create a notepad for you to keep on your computer “Lisa notes” which will have all the details from below and an outline of your homework and what we will accomplish in our next appointment
  • Reviewing your system
  • Do you have all of your passwords available?
  • Outlook/all email accounts in the profile and size of mailbox and OST files
  • Outlook/all PST files in the profile and location in computer/POP setup/PST size
    • If you have Outlook setup as a PST, we will have a short discussion about the future of Outlook and how it does not support PST and one day you will need to move that data to another email server.
  • Exchange accounts/how much email is download
  • Office licenses
  • Are your accounts with Microsoft already set up with security?
  • Do you have a break glass account
  • Email hosting for all email accounts
  • Review calendar and contacts in Outlook
  • Review tasks/notes and ask about any other custom configurations
  • Windows login
  • Microsoft personal accounts
  • Microsoft OneDrive accounts personal vs business
  • Windows Updates/Office updates
  • Antivirus/VPN
  • iCloud/Gmail
  • iPhone/iPad/Android accounts setup/are they synchronizing?
  • What else do you want me to help with? Example: setting up Teams or other technology, OneDrive?

What to expect at the end of the onboarding

  • We will create a game plan of sorts, an outline of the work you want done with notes.
  • If the request you have is simple, I will continue to help during your appt. If not, we will schedule another time that gives me and you time to complete more work. This will most likely be a 2+ hour appt.
  • I will offer a soft quote for the time needed to complete your request and other appointments you may need. Some clients don’t know that they need more work done than they thought, and I’ll explain during this time, so you are not sticker shocked.
  • If you want to move forward, I will schedule manually your next appointment to get started on the request and collect your credit card for the time quoted
  • Some requests require help from a vendor or Microsoft due to technical issues or administrative rights. During the onboarding I will let you know if your request requires help before we move ahead.

When work is completed

  • We will review your list, and make sure everything is working as designed
  • Talk about backup solutions
  • Security/How to use your break glass account with Microsoft
  • How to get support from Microsoft or vendor
  • Support ticket
  • Quarterly appt
  • Other work you might want done in the future/Move to Microsoft Exchange/Group training/workshops

Tips:

  • During the onboarding appt, you don’t need to unplug your other monitors but during any work I do, I ask you unplug them as I work very fast and 2+ monitors slows me down and adds more time to your bill.
  • As well, very large monitors cause me to slow down, I recommend you change the resolution so I can work better during our appt.
  • Often times clients have Outlook issues and OneDrive issues they want resolved, these are done in two separate appointments typically. If I can do both in one appointment, I will try. Most of the time OneDrive requests are a full appointment on its own.
  • During technical repair or reconfiguration requests, clients sometimes ask how to do things or want to know questions outside of the work I’m doing. I’m happy to answer those after the initial request is completed. I may ask you to write it down so you don’t forget, and we can cover it at the end of the appointment.
