I’m very familiar with how POP/IMAP work with Outlook, how to repair and fix sync issues, help sync the contacts and calendar with your Android or iPhone. Outlook itself will only sync contacts and calendar with Microsoft Exchange Business mailboxes or a personal Outlook.com account. Everything else requires a connector or a sync product. Have you ever seen (This Computer Only) in your Outlook folders or contacts/calendar? This data is in a file in your computer that to me, is very dangerous. If you deleted your Gmail account from your Outlook, all of that data in (This Computer Only) deletes itself as well. Data recovery is possible but unlikely.

I’m one of the few technicians that can support PC and the Mac/Apple/iPhone world. I started out using Mac’s in the mid 90’s and always kept up with support. I’m not an Expert with the OS, but am handy. The applications I support most are of course, Outlook and the Mail app. I also help setup and troubleshoot OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. Mac Outlook doesn’t offer some features that the PC offers for migrating data, fixing corrupted calendars and contacts. If you don’t have a PC available if I need one, we can discuss at that time.

At this point, any company. I prefer Microsoft of course as most people want calendar and contact syncing with Outlook. Call me to talk about moving away from Network Solutions 612-865-4475. I had a user that was having issues with their M365 licenses being deactivated. Pop ups going off like crazy. I did the usual troubleshooting first, Windows updates and Office updates, but this did not help. I looked at credential manager, removed the work account from the accounts area, didn’t help. But what fixed it was removing the en-us version of Office. The client actually had two versions installed, the home and business. Business will state “Microsoft 365 Apps for Business”. That’s what it was. I also signed them out of the User Information area first.

This one can be a “slay the Outlook dragon” fix for you techs out there. What I have found it means, is that Outlook is unhappy with the other profiles in Outlook and how they are connected to the Office 365 account.
