Training With Lisa: Outlook Contacts Management

Ready to explore the wonderful world of Outlook contacts? Most people never make use of all the features that are built right in. Configured correctly, your Microsoft Outlook contacts can work seamlessly as your CRM system, with contacts shared within your company.

I show clients how to manage their contacts (both personal and professional); fix corrupted, duplicate, or unmanaged contacts; input contact data the way they want it; and synch everything with their phones.

Contacts training usually starts with the department lead, followed by a team webinar or quick, individual sessions. Getting everyone on board in the same way is the key to developing and maintaining a great contacts database.

Topics we’ll cover:

  • How to set up your address book, including creating contact folders
  • How to create contact groups (formerly known as distribution lists)
  • How to choose different views for your contacts
  • Adding/customizing fields
  • Understanding where Outlook stores your contact data: on your computer or on a server
  • How to share contacts within an organization
  • Phone and device configuration
  • How to export contacts for use in Excel
  • How to add contacts from your email inbox
  • Contact search tips

Bonus! How to use LinkedIn to find contacts

Outlook Email Management Training

| May 13, 2021

Interested in having your team or a group of colleagues trained on Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive or Teams? My name is Lisa and I’m certified in Microsoft Outlook and consider myself a master technician. I have 25 years experience working as a helpdesk tech and focused on email, email programs, and of course Outlook. I have been training end users and technicians on every aspect of email and Outlook since 1996 at almost very job I have had. While I follow an outline, I freestyle all my training and can answer technical questions on demand. This is what sets me apart from other professional trainers.

Hiring a technical trainer has benefits when you decide to invest in training for your team. For instance, if you want help after the training, I have all the remote software to remote in the computers and help configure or offer a private training session. As well, I see new issues and features daily and keep with the current trends of the ever changing Microsoft platform.

Please review the information below, watch my demo video and fill out the form to schedule a consult.

General information:

  • Each training I offer does include a basic outline and can be customized.
  • All sessions are done via Zoom and are either 30 min or 1 hour in length depending on the attendees.
  • 30 min sessions are more popular to keep attention of the attendees. Then we take a break for two weeks and allow them time to learn their new products, then we do another follow up training where I can answer questions.
  • All Outlook Training begins with setting up your Outlook.

My demo videos are listed on my YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/callthatgirl

When we’re done, you and your team will have a new appreciation for Outlook as a sales tool.

More about my training

Yes, you can find tutorials on YouTube. But hiring a master technician like me means having a relationship with someone who can customize training experiences to your exact specs and who will be there for follow-up training and troubleshooting, system configuration, private training sessions, software updates—whatever you need.

I have 25 years of experience as a helpdesk tech, and I’ve trained end-users and technicians on every aspect of email and Outlook at almost every job I’ve had. I have seen it all, and I am always on top of Microsoft’s ever-changing platform.

  • Training can be delivered in 30-minute or one-hour sessions. Best practice is to start with half an hour, let employees incorporate their new knowledge for a couple of weeks, and then follow up with another 30-minute session to address questions and concerns that have come up.
  • All training is done by Zoom.
  • Every session starts with 10 minutes of guidance on setup, making sure participants have Outlook optimally configured.
  • All my training is freestyle and customizable: You’ve got the questions; I’ve got the answers.

Outlook Basics and Email Etiquette Training

| May 13, 2021

Training With Lisa: Outlook Basics & Email Etiquette

Heavy users of Outlook believe they know enough about Outlook, until I show them a few of my favorite tricks.

My training covers the basics you didn’t know were at your fingertips, plus simple email etiquette and strategies that prompt responses you want to read. These days, when everyone is “so busy,” the key is remembering that less is definitely less.

People need to read an email, quickly understand the desired action, and be able to take that action. Using Outlook to its full potential means becoming more productive and efficient as both an email writer and an email recipient. And improving the flow of email communication means more time for you to focus on the work you really want—and need—to do.

Among the topics we’ll cover:

  • How to set yourself up for success by choosing the best Outlook settings and configuration
  • How to create and use signatures, templates, folders, and other functions
  • 6 tips for efficient automated emails and replies, including “out of office” guidelines
  • How to simplify your decision-making when processing email and take control of your inbox
  • How to write responses that are professional and to-the-point
  • How to keep track of your to-do list
  • The best use for email drafts
  • How to manage your junk/spam folder
  • How an end-of-day routine sets you up for a great start the next day

Bonus! My favorite short cuts for calendar scheduling, email searches, and more
