My Assessments with Meg Fitzpatrick from MMF Strategies

| December 20, 2020 | 1 Comment

COVID reflections:

When Meg Fitzpatrick and I began working together four years ago, I had no idea what she did for a living. I just knew she had a complex Microsoft problem which I could solve. Looking back, I realize we worked well together from the very start. As we got to know  each other on less intense Microsoft technical problems, I asked her how she so quickly knew the way to work productively with me. Turns out, Meg has superpowers as a business strategist for leaders and company owners – her McKinsey & Company training helps! – and an assessment expert diagnosing people’s communication & operating styles, motivators, EQ, and leadership priorities. I asked her for feedback about my communication and working styles. She was honest and spot on accurate.

COVID has given me time to reflect. One ‘Ah Ha’ moment was wanting to understand ways I can better connect and work with clients and friends. So, I called Meg. We talked about the right assessments for me to take and the reports I would receive. The results precisely captured my ‘wiring’

We had two in-depth and fun debriefing sessions. I now understand how Meg observed my approach and quickly knew how to adapt. You know, at times, I can be hyper-focused when solving your technical issues. Because I know this can come across as inaccessible and remote, Meg has taught me to communicate better upfront and set an expectation about my need for some ‘quiet time.’ This leads to quality solutions for you which is my goal.

Hi folks, my rate is $325 per hour, can be used in four 15-minute increments.

How Appointments Work

You may book an appointment using my online scheduler. Please be sure to select your correct time zone when booking.

Every engagement begins with an onboarding and system review. During this session, I evaluate your environment, review the issues you’re experiencing, and identify any underlying problems that may not be immediately visible.

After the review, I will:

  • Recommend clear, practical solutions

  • Provide an outline of the work if the issue requires multiple steps

  • Give you an estimated time requirement to complete the work

  • Once you approve the scope and time estimate, we move forward.

Important Timing Notes

Most requests take longer than one hour and may require:

  • Multiple calls

  • Work spread over a few days due to waiting time for syncing, downloading, uploading, repairs, or system propagation. It’s best to schedule appointments when you have the time, no travel, great internet, etc

Ongoing Support & Prepaid Tickets

After your request is completed, I offer discounted prepaid tickets for future support.

Prepaid tickets are ideal for:

  • Helpdesk-style questions

  • “Quick questions”

  • Outlook errors

Prepaid tickets cannot be used for project-based work or large migrations.

How my expertise can help you

As a highly skilled technician and Microsoft Outlook expert, I offer email and Outlook repairs and configuration, as well as email migrations to Microsoft 365. In the legal field, I’m available for expert search, e-discovery and investigations requiring data recovery.

Inbox missing email from IMAP Outlook Office 365

Inbox missing email from IMAP Outlook Office 365

This was a very interesting repair I had to do for my client. They started out with one problem solved by other technicians, then called me in for the final repairs needed. Be warned…if you are missing email from your inbox, do not put INBOX in the root folder of your Outlook (many blogs state this will fix it, it will not). This will remove all the folders from your IMAP folders and leave you with only the Inbox. Which is ridiculous to even imagine this being a fix, but I will move on here. You can remove that INBOX from the root for starters, your IMAP folders will come back, or should. If not, you might need your mailbox “resynched” by your email host. You have to specifically ask for this to be done.

According to one lonely updated blog from September, I found the answer deep in the blog. Yes, I read blogs online just like you are doing here with my blog. The difference between my fix here is that I did all the preventative work before doing my fix. If you have not, please read below the things I did first. If you need help, please use my scheduler below to get on my calendar.

1.) Back up the current IMAP that you can see to a local PST file

2.) Do not delete any profiles in the control panel mail app

3.) In the nav bar at the top of Outlook, you will see “Folder” and then an option under “IMAP Folders”

4.) View the subscribed folders by hitting “Query”, be sure you are subscribed to all the folders

5.) Uncheck the box that says to display folders in Outlook (see graphic). You might need to hit send/receive again but your inbox should start working again.
