Microsoft Outlook Tech Test

Take the test!

Then decide what class is for you…remember if you don’t know these without Googling, the basic class is recommended.

I created this test based upon the basic calls that come in and these are “quick fixes” and we will cover these in the Basics class. If you know these, then you will be ready for the Advanced class which is more detailed into configuration and repairs, and we will cover a full hands on Microsoft Exchange migration.

  1. Where are the 2 locations Windows stores default PST files when you create a new profile in Outlook in any Windows version?
  2. Do you know where the SCANPST repair tool is located in Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista and XP?
  3. Do you know the difference between a PST and an OST file?
  4. How do you add a PST to an Outlook profile?
  5. What is the difference between POP, IMAP and Exchange?
  6. Do you know where to setup a signature is located in Outlook?
  7. Do you know how to turn on picture viewing in Outlook? (Instead of the red x)
  8. What is the difference between opening Outlook in regular mode and safe mode?
  9. Do you know how to clear filters if emails don’t show up in a folder in Outlook?
  10. How do you fix an Outlook showing Offline when open?

To check out the classes for Basic and Advanced, click below. I will be using Outlook 2013 for the core training, but will be remoted into my laptop that has Outlook 2010.
