Can I delete ost files without losing email messages

Question: Can I delete OST files without losing email messages? Maybe, if your email is on an IMAP or Exchange server and it’s synchronizing correctly without corruption. You will lose your messages if you delete your OST file if there is data only on the computer and not on the server. Always backup your data in Outlook before deleting an OST is the best answer.
