Sorry, we could not sign you in Google-IMAP

There are many reasons why you might get this error. My usual fixes were not working (be sure you are logged into Gmail in your default browser) but today I found this fix on Google support page. It worked, miracle! I do believe this is for the paid Office version, not Office 365.

File<Office Account<Account Privacy-Manage Settings

  • Office Account Settings
  • Account Privacy Settings
  • Connected Experiences at the bottom, check the box.
