New Outlook Gmail not receiving new email
I had a client call in today and his New Outlook setup with regular free gmail.com wasn’t updating new emails since yesterday. I was traveling so I could not remote in, I asked him to restart his computer and let me know if that helped. I got home and called him back and it didn’t change. I had him try the “sync” button. That failed too. So I remoted in and literallly just clicked on the inbox, then clicked on another folder and then his inbox started downloading new email.
Am I the New Outlook Whisperer? Maybe lol. Either way, not sure what was wrong here but that worked for him. My next move if that failed was to remove his gmail account, close New Outlook and add the account back in. He called in last week with an issue of his Gmail security pop ups and no email was coming in on two computers. I connected the accounts and it worked great after that. This was probably just a glitch.

Hopefully this post is helpful for you. New Outlook problems are now becoming calls into queue as so many people are using it. I’ll be posting my New Outlook articles as I come across fixes. How it was resolved: I give props when props are due, I didn’t have time on that call to figure it out, so I put in my research queue for the night. The client ended up doing some of his own research and did something I never thought would work, but he did a full (advanced repair) Office repair and that fixed it. So now I’m telling you all this, it might not work for you but it worked for him. I was thrilled to learn because we are all learning what fixes New Outlook together here.

New Outlook Workshops for Technicians
Hi Folks, many of you know that I have spent 15 years in the tech communities helping and supporting techs around the world with Outlook issues, training and written eBooks. Now it’s time for my biggest adventure yet…I’m offering New Outlook Training for Technicians workshops free of charge. By 2029, Microsoft is ending life for Outlook Classic and switching to New Outlook. For my business, this is a huge change of everything I have been doing since I started my business in 2007. I’ve been preparing for the switch since 2022 and since last year, I’ve been helping clients prepare for the switch. It may seem early, but I take the opportunity with every client I help to tell them about what is coming. This is sales lead for later or some opt to do it sooner. Some clients actually enjoy the New Outlook so they are all done.
I have been reading what techs are saying on the forums and some aren’t touching it yet. If you wait too long, you might be rushing to learn later on and that’s a lost sale for you possibly. Now might be the time to move your hourly clients to your MSP or your support plans. I will be offering a new support plan and launching it in the next month or so (beta). In 2029, my hourly work will change as New Outlook does not have any configuring or customizing that is most of the work I do now for Outlook clients.
These workshops are my way of giving back to the tech community by mentoring. It’s also giving me some practice on training workshop style to large groups, (hoping to do more in the future).
New Outlook is going to be a game changer for us who support clients and the more you know, the better you will help your clients. As a mentor, I’ll also be available to help with quick questions as you go along.

I will be screensharing and showing you each step of the topic for the day.
