I got this error when I was helping another IT company and could not log into their Microsoft 365 admin portal. I figured it had to do with security, so I had the original admin who created the account log in and we removed the default security in Azure.
- How to remove
- Log into the admin portal
- Azure Active Directory
- Properties/which is tenant properties
- at the bottom, click on “Manage Security Defaults”
- Turn off
Once this is done, you can continue and setup security again.

Windows365 Cloud Cannot Add a Microsoft Exchange Account in Outlook on Windows 11
If you are logged into your Windows 365 Cloud and are having trouble setting up your Microsoft Exchange with your Outlook, you need to create an app password. Here are instructions.
- You need to first log into your 365 Account
- Then go to the top right corner and click on the 2 initials, go to “view my account”
- Then go to “Security Info”
- Create yourself an app password, name it whatever you like. The 16 letters are your new password for Outlook. Try using that password and if that fails, then email me. The next fix requires changing the registry and I’m not comfortable adding a .zip file to this blog.

- To help keep your account secure, from May 30, 2022, Google no longer supports the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password.
If you are getting a password prompt with an error, Google changed their security for Outlook and required 2 step authentication. The old trick of turning on less apps is gone, now you need to do a few things.
FIX:
1.) Setup 2 step authentication with the account. Most folks want text but you can use the Google app or YouTube app from your phone.
2.) Then once done, you can click here and assign an Outlook app password https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords
