Hi folks, below is the instructions on how to move your account from Appriver to Sherweb. Reminder, this is not an email migration just an account transition. Video is below

Ask for “Sales”

Ask these questions:

  • Ask if you’re on a contract and when is the cancellation date
  • Ask if you’re on monthly or yearly billing (if you don’t know)
  • When can you transfer your account/what date/cancellation
  • How many types of accounts you have/Exchange/business standard, etc
  • How many mailboxes will  you need transferred
  • What types are they?
  • Any other services (spam filter, encryption, etc)
  • Your Microsoft Domain name (typically it has a .onmicrosoft address, not your email address)

Setup an account at Sherweb https://shop.sherweb.com/accountcreation/?aid=37978

Email Jamie Guerrera jguerrera@sherweb.com

Tell him you are transferring your account

The next steps Jamie can assist with if you want help, or I can help too. Or watch the video below and do it yourself, with the correct tenant domain login, you should be able to this on your own. I

The video below is about 17 minutes, but your transition time should be way less time to do. The video goes into more explanation of how it works.

Pro’s of Sherweb:

  • Do it yourself sales, all changes to your account can be made online and easy to upgrade licenses, add licences
  • I can be an admin of the account and do these changes for you
  • Easy transfer of accounts to Sherweb from Appriver
  • 24×7 support, US and Canadian based
  • They are also overflow support for Microsoft
  • I often don’t bill my clients for calls I need to make on your behalf to Sherweb for a few reasons
    • Sometimes I learn on that call and I consider it research
    • I earn commission from Sherweb, so that’s how I can compliment these calls to my clients

Con’s of Appriver

  • I will no longer be able to call on your behalf if you need my help
  • Long wait times on the phone, when you get a technician, as of late they are new to the company and are not as experienced as the past Tier 1 team was
  • You will have to ask for a “Florida tech” to get to the experienced first level technicians
  • When you need to add or change a license, you have to call and get it done.
  • The sales email queue takes days to answer

Outlook Error Something went wrong [1200]

Outlook Error Something went wrong [1200]

If you see this error, it’s most likely from when you added your email accounts to Outlook, you allowed it to do more than just email. There can be many reasons why you’re getting this but here is how I fixed it. (My client had a new motherboard installed and this is what happened to him when he launched Outlook after the replacement)

  • Close Outlook
  • Go to search in your computer
  • Search for “Accounts” and you will see “manage your accounts” or “account info”
  • Go to “Access work or school”
  • If you are not a business domain or your computer isn’t managed by an IT provider, you should be able to disconnect the accounts there
  • After you disconnect, relaunch Outlook
  • You might need to restart the computer completely
  • Launch Outlook and the accounts you removed will pop up with a password request and they should ask for security authentication
  • Outlook will spin up and only click on “sign into this app only” and that should take care of it. If you need help, contact me below or schedule an appt.

SOLVED: Outlook Error Something went wrong [1001]

Outlook Error Something went wrong [1001]

I solved this problem by removing accounts in Windows.

Go to search

Type “Accounts”

In that window click on Work or School accounts

In that area, you might see many Windows accounts logged in with your emails in Outlook. This happens when you add a new account in Outlook and agree to sign in. (Next time you add an account in Outlook click the option at the lower left, “Sign into only this app”).

Click on the “disconnect” button

It will take a minute to disconnect, then it should be gone. Take note that when you launch Outlook again, you will need to log in again with the account password.

If you cannot remove the account, then that email is connected in the Windows account as the default and this will be a bit more difficult to repair.

How to fix Microsoft Exchange 365 emails bouncing yahoo and gmail emails

How to fix Microsoft Exchange 365 emails bouncing yahoo and gmail emails

Google and Yahoo have revealed plans to introduce new email authentication standards for all email senders starting February 2024. The aim is to enhance deliverability and combat spam by preventing fraudulent messages like scams and phishing attempts. Under these changes, emails sent from unauthenticated addresses won’t land in recipients’ inboxes.

Basically, if you are emailing anyone with a yahoo.com or gmail.com email address, you might find the email bounced back. This is important to know if you are using a Microsoft 365 Exchange account. I have no details yet on other email hosts that only support IMAP or POP. I’m guessing those companies will follow along in time.

Many of my clients still use their yahoo, hotmail or AOL for business, and many with Microsoft 365 Exchange still email their clients who are using yahoo.com or any of the variants (AOL, Verizon, sbcglobal.net, Pacbell.com, etc)

AOL, Yahoo. Verizon, sbcglobal.net, pacificbell.com, pacbell.com, all of these will have issues at some point. These are not business email accounts and are and have been always “personal email” in the eyes of the internet, therefore they need to be validated for you to email them.

How to resolve:

You can update this record in your DNS: (This may or may not work but it’s worth a try before hiring help to get this done)

TXT

_dmarc or _dmarc.yourdomain.com

Value:

v=DMARC1; p=none;

OR this is now working better

v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; pct=100; rua=mailto:jane@coolexample.com; ruf=mailto:jane@coolexample.com

Replace the coolexample with another email, this email might get some alerts.

If you need my help, fill out the form below or schedule an appt. Take note these updates can take a bit of time and sometimes a few efforts, things have changed in the past couple of days with the DMARC/Yahoo records.
