vCIO Los Angeles

Businesses from the solopreneur to the smaller companies under 500 employees all need someone who is technical to help run or assist their IT infrastructure. Like many of my clients in 2008, business boomed during the recession and 12 years later…many of you have grown and outgrown managing your own IT. While many have delegated the “IT Director” title to someone in the company, most of those folks have other tasks to do and keeping up with IT and all related issues is very challenging. Since everyone is using the cloud for data of some sorts, having a FT person is unreasonable and not always the best use of a budget.

Some of you also are the only employee, like myself. Being your own employee means you have to have help still. You can’t possibly know it all and Google is not always your friend. Researching an Outlook issue can cause you hours of confusion and wasted time you could be doing other things for your business. I have a few people that I hire to help me run my company, most are software systems but I do have a few people that I pay as contracted for help.

Technology changes way too fast to keep up with and I’m not even talking about Office 365. I find new things change daily and that’s my job to keep up with. The majority of my clients who call me for Outlook and Office 365 help, typically are self-managing their systems, meaning you are not paying a company to manage your Microsoft Windows, Anti-virus and Backups.

In the past year I have been asked by many clients to be their vCIO. I said that’s what I have been doing for many years for my prepay ticket clients. I help them all with their technology without the huge price tag.

vCIO

In the past year I have been asked by many clients to be their Fractional CIO or  vCIO (Virtual Chief Information Officer). Many of my clients don’t have any IT support and need someone like myself to assist with day to day IT questions or help decide on software, make decisions before buying, etc. Some of my clients do have a managed service provider (MSP) and rely on them for many tasks but they are asked by their MSP to do some tasks and my clients don’t want to deal with it. If you have an IT company already assisting you, do you have enough technical knowledge to manage the requests they ask of you? Who is doing your audits of their invoices and reports and keeping them accountable? And of course, who backs them up with Outlook and 365 emergencies? This is where I come in and can assist and I do it very well.

Pricing

$600 a month, time is not tracked unless I feel you’re using over 2 hours a month. Then I can track and adjust as necessary. Hours do not roll over, so I ask my clients to use me for any type of support: Tune ups, backup verification, add/changes to 365 accounts, helpdesk requests, general consulting. See list below.

vCIO Services

Small businesses today need virtual CIO to help manage their IT and keep on top of their administrative duties (easy stuff like creating new accounts, terminations, security, backup, troubleshooting, day to day questions). I have been a vCIO (virtual CIO) for years for many of my clients. Mostly for those that have Office 365. I have my own account and can do the simple requests needed here and there. I also remote into the employee computers and can fix simple problems quickly. Many also want project work completed and as a vCIO I help work on the technical projects such as company wide Multi-factor authentication, buying new computers, remote access, SharePoint sync, OneDrive sync, training.

I can assist with Microsoft Office 365, GSuite and any company on POP/IMAP for their email.
