SOLVED Outlook 2013 is stuck at the loading profile screen

| January 2, 2015

Outlook 2013 is stuck at the loading profile screenI had a client last week call in for some Outlook issues. I fixed those but in the troubleshooting phase, we decided to upgrade him to Outlook 2013. Mostly because he had a lot of mail, many email accounts and just felt the upgrade would help. Well, it did…but then his Outlook would not open, it got stuck  at the loading profile screen. It would not work in safe mode, or when I was remoted in. Very strange issue! So I did the basics of troubleshooting Outlook

  • Disabled all add-in’s
  • Turned off trend antivirus
  • Add Outlook to the firewall
  • Disabled start ups on computer
  • Removed reminders
  • Turned off graphics acceleration
  • Rebooted twice

still hung at loading profile…

Then I got to thinking, he said if I was connected to him remotely, it worked ok. I wondered why that was and then it dawned on me that when I remote into a computer, I disable graphics. I remoted in fresh and left the graphics enabled, and it got stuck at loading. Bingo! It’s a graphics issue! We installed the Nvidia Experience and it worked great after that.

With technology offering us so many ways to synchronize… iCloud, iPhone, and Microsoft Outlook is a great easy solution, but often times clients don’t set it up right. Don’t worry you are not alone! I am an Outlook expert and have learned that many of my clients have many problems, but usually easily fixed with the right knowledgeable person. You need someone that knows how to set it up right the first time!

Sometimes going to the Apple store, doesn’t help. Those sales people don’t know Outlook very well, and it can be frustrating.

Calling Microsoft, can be even more frustrating.

Their first level techs usually don’t know all three technologies well enough to configure it for you over the phone or remoted in. My clients usually complain first that they called Microsoft, and then went to the Apple store, then found me online.I have patience. I understand your frustrations. Most importantly, I know all the technologies involved.

  • iCloud
  • iPhone
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Heck, throw in Gmail! I know that too.

Call me today and get on my calendar, I’ll have you fixed up in no time!
