Deleted OST File Outlook 2013 and 2016

Deleted OST File Outlook 2013 and 2016 – Oops Where did it go? Sadly, it’s gone for good if you don’t use a recovery program. It does not go in the recycle bin like one would hope unfortunately. I think many people assume that if you remove the OST from an Outlook profile, it’s still in the appdata file. Thanks to the new “vanishing” option, Microsoft completely deletes it now from your computer and searches.

Software Recovery Programs

There are many recovery programs out there on the internet- most run around $49.  I downloaded a free version to be sure the OST files showed up and they did. Tip, only search for OST files! (much faster).  I paid then for the program and they recovered the OST files quickly. You will need to use another software program to convert the OST file to a PST file so you can add back into Outlook. I have used many OST to PST converter tools, all of them work the same and are priced around $99. You’re looking at about $150 if you want to do the recovery yourself.
